Introduction

When processing high‑hardness materials like silica sand and quartz, our silica sand grinding mill machine delivers a solution that balances efficiency, purity, and long‑term operating cost. Purpose‑built for these applications, it achieves consistent particle size from 80 to 600 mesh (or finer) with low iron contamination—critical for high‑value uses such as photovoltaic glass, high‑purity quartz powders, and foundry sands. Backed by 20+ years of export experience and over 200 successful installations, we provide complete turnkey plants, from crushing and grinding to classification, dust collection, and automated packing.

Silica sand and quartz have a Mohs hardness of approximately 7. In our quartz grinding mill machine, silica sand grinding mill, the core wear parts—such as grinding rollers, grinding rings, shovel blades, and air ducts—are made of high manganese steel, high chromium cast iron, or alloy wear-resistant materials, and undergo integral heat treatment for high hardness and a dense structure. When grinding silica sand, the service life of the grinding rollers reaches 800–1,200 hours, with maintenance intervals extended by over 30%, significantly reducing downtime and replacement costs.

Product Features

Precise particle size control

Equipped with an optional high‑efficiency turbo classifier, the mill allows stepless adjustment to achieve D97 from 80 mesh up to 600 mesh or finer, meeting strict specifications for different industries.

Longer service life, lower maintenance

Grinding rollers and rings are cast from high‑manganese or composite wear‑resistant alloys with heat treatment, extending wear part life by over 30% compared to conventional materials.

Energy‑saving design

Variable frequency drives on the main unit and blower, combined with optimized airflow, reduce power consumption by 15–25% compared to traditional Raymond mills

Centralized Control & Automation

Automated control systems reduce labor dependency, enable real-time monitoring of key parameters (current, feed rate, fineness), and improve operational efficiency.

Working Principle

1.Raw Material Pre‑treatment & Feeding

Silica sand is crushed to ≤20–30mm and evenly fed into the Raymond mill.

2.Core Grinding Process

Under centrifugal force, the grinding roller presses tightly against the grinding ring. The blade throws the material between the roller and the ring, creating multi‑layer rolling and grinding that efficiently pulverizes the silica sand. To handle the high hardness of silica sand, the roller and ring are made of wear‑resistant alloy with optimized clearance.

3.Classification & Screening

Powder is carried to the classifier. Qualified fines pass through to collection; oversize particles return to the grinding zone for regrinding. Fineness is adjustable from 80 to 400 mesh.

4.Pneumatic Conveying & Product Collection

Qualified powder is separated via cyclone collector and pulse dust removal system. Closed‑circuit air classification ensures no dust leakage.

5.Wear Protection & Continuous Operation

Key wear parts (roller, ring, air duct, blade) are made of high‑chromium cast iron or hardfaced layers. For Mohs hardness 7 silica sand, wear part life is extended by over 30%, ensuring continuous and stable operation.
