Introduction

Our Calcium Carbonate Ball Mill Grinding Plant (GCC grinding production line) is specifically designed for large-scale, continuous production of high-quality GCC powder. Utilizing a ball mill + air classifier closed-circuit system, it processes raw materials such as calcite, marble, and limestone into calcium carbonate powder with controllable fineness, concentrated particle size distribution, and pure whiteness through the combination of ball mill impact grinding and classifier precision separation. The system can produce standard GCC powder with d97 = 10-45μm.

Calcium Carbonate Ball Mill grinding media (high-chromium steel, zirconia, or ceramic balls) inside the rotating cylinder crush, shear, and grind the material down to micron-level fineness, while a high-precision turbo air classifier enables precise particle size control (D97 adjustable from 10 μm to 45 μm). This system delivers high throughput (5–60 t/h), excellent whiteness retention, steep particle size distribution, stable operation, and optimized energy efficiency, meeting the demanding requirements of high-value calcium carbonate powders in industries such as plastics, coatings, paper, rubber, and building materials.

Working Principle

Working Principle

This Calcium Carbonate Ball Mill Grinding Plant utilizes a closed-circuit system consisting of a ball mill and an air classifier. The process is as follows:

Step 1: Raw Material Preparation & Crushing
Raw materials such as calcite, marble, or limestone are washed, impurities removed, and then crushed to ≤25mm feed size by jaw crushers and hammer crushers.

Step 2: Grinding (Ball Mill)
The crushed material is uniformly fed into the ball mill grinding chamber via a feeding device. The ball mill cylinder rotates, lifting the grinding media (steel or ceramic balls) to a certain height before they drop, crushing and grinding the material through impact and attrition. An energy-saving design reduces energy consumption by approximately 30%.

Step 3: Classification (Air Classifier)
The ground material is conveyed by airflow into the air classifier. The classifier‘s high-speed rotating wheel generates centrifugal force to precisely classify the powder. Powder that meets the fineness requirement passes through the classifier wheel to the collection system. Coarse powder that does not meet the requirement is rejected and returned to the ball mill for regrinding, forming a closed circuit.

Step 4: Collection & Packaging
Qualified powder is collected by a pulse baghouse filter, sent to a product silo, and packaged by an automatic packaging machine. The entire system operates under negative pressure to ensure dust-free operation.
